Jenny Okoye

Director

Jenny is an award-winning architect with over 25 years’ experience, and in 2020 established Azona Design Ltd, an architectural practice specialising in working directly with schools, and boutique property developers.

In addition, Jenny has owned and managed shared houses for students and young professionals for over 10 years where she focuses on creating pleasant and harmonious co-living communities.

It’s this wide-ranging expertise and experience that gives Jenny what one client described as “a unique ability to visualise spaces being used in a way others can’t see.” She is the space transformation visionary behind Azona.

Jenny has worked for a variety of ‘Top 100’ architectural practices in Bristol and Bath, leading on projects across the UK, and internationally.

Her breadth of work is impressive. These include new build and redevelopment of schools, universities, hospitals, retail, storage and distribution centres, purpose-built student accommodation, and town centre regeneration.

One of her earliest projects was the design of the landmark 18,500sqm Ikea retail superstore in Bristol. She also led the technical design phase for the conversion of a 10,000sqm office building into 395 bed space student accommodation, plus advised on the conversion of an 850sqm Grade II listed manor house into luxury apartments.

Jenny has experience working on both sides of the development fence, with both contractors, developers, and public and private sector clients. Along with having also served as a technical advisor to Bristol City Council and Falkland Islands Government.

Jenny’s expertise and ability to communicate how to add value through design has seen her repeatedly invited to speak at prestigious property business network events.
